Meditation Retreat

About This Event

Description

Common Questions

FAQs

This fourth meeting focuses on altruism, 'La via dell'altruismo', and the link between knowing yourself and being able to care for others. It follows earlier meetings on attachment and aversion. Vincenzo Tallarico explores how to recognise what closes us in on ourselves and how to listen and understand more openly.
The organizer says the course is open to everyone and suits both beginners and experienced practitioners. The page does not state that the earlier meetings are a prerequisite. This meeting continues the dialogue between Jungian analytical psychology and Tibetan Buddhism, taking up altruism after attachment and aversion.
He is a Jungian analyst, a Sand Play therapist and a training analyst at CIPA, and a co-founder and senior teacher of Mindfulness Project. He is also a meditation teacher in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. He met Buddhism in 1978 through Lama Thubten Yesce and trained with Dora Kalff, a direct student of C.G. Jung, and has spent his career integrating Western and Eastern psychology.
Middle days start with meditation at 7:30, followed by teaching sessions in the morning and afternoon, with meals in between. The evening ends with a dialogue and sharing space at 20:30. The teaching combines talks, meditation and shared reflection. The final day has morning meditation, a teaching session with concluding meditation, and then lunch.
