About This Event

Description

Main Character Era is a healing retreat for single women, held at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Led by Robin Fisher Roffer, host of the Plenty of Husbands Podcast, it is a women-only workshop for anyone who wants to release past heartbreak, build self-worth, and open her heart to love again with clarity and intention. The program is open to women and all those who identify as women.

What to Expect

Robin draws candidly on her own story: nine proposals, three marriages, and finding new love at age 55. Her aim is to help you stop treating your love life like a side gig and start creating the connection you want on purpose. The work combines personal storytelling with hands-on exercises, and it moves through four themes.

- Fall in love with who you are now. You look at your core values, passions, and purpose, and set down the protective masks of caretaker, victim, and martyr.
- Rewrite your love story. You reframe past relationships and heartbreaks as lessons that helped you become who you are today.
- Script your future. You imagine and write a vivid "day in the life" movie script featuring your ideal new partner.
- Step into dating with intention. You set clear goals and shape practical next steps for approaching dating with courage and an open heart.

The retreat runs four days. It opens with check-in from 2:00 pm, a Kripalu Yoga class in the late afternoon, dinner, and an evening program session from 7:30 to 9:00. The two full days follow a steady rhythm: Kripalu Yoga at 6:30 am, silent breakfast, a program session from 9:00 to 11:30, lunch, another session from 1:30 to 4:00, a second yoga class at 4:45, and dinner. On the closing morning there is yoga, silent breakfast, and a final session from 9:00 to 11:00, then lunch and departure. Times can shift, so the schedule given at check-in is the one to follow.

About Robin Fisher Roffer

Robin Fisher Roffer hosts the Plenty of Husbands Podcast and leads this program from lived experience. Her own path through heartbreak, marriage, and new love at 55 shapes how she guides the group toward self-acceptance, resilience, and a lasting sense of happiness.

The Setting

Kripalu sits in the Berkshires, in Stockbridge, and its accommodations are intentionally simple, meant to help you unplug and feel grounded. You can choose a private single-occupancy room for solitude, a shared double room, or a community-style dormitory for connection and affordability. Three meals are served each day, and breakfast is taken in silence. Rooms are ready by 4:00 pm, and a luggage room is available if you arrive earlier. Check-out on the last day is at 10:00 am, though you may stay on campus and take part in workshops until 2:00 pm.

Before You Go

No prior experience with yoga, meditation, or retreats is needed. The program is taught in English and is open to all levels.

Your stay includes:

- All program sessions with Robin Fisher Roffer
- Accommodation of your choice
- Three daily meals
- More than ten yoga and movement classes each day
- Access to the Kripalu grounds

Healing Arts sessions and items from the Kripalu Shop and Cafe are available for separate purchase. If the program is full, a waitlist is available.

This program is for women and all those who identify as women only. It is a women-only workshop for single women focused on loving themselves first, so it will suit those who are starting over or stepping into a new chapter.
The program combines storytelling with transformational exercises. You will identify your core values, passions, and purpose while shedding protective masks like caretaker, victim, and martyr. You will also reframe past relationships and heartbreaks, and write a "day in the life" movie script featuring your ideal new partner.
It covers both. The final part of the program focuses on stepping into dating with intention, where you set clear goals and craft actionable next steps. The aim is to approach dating with courage and an open heart, building on the self-acceptance work earlier in the program.
