Kim Chandler

Kim Chandler is a vocal coach, presenter and session singer working in contemporary singing pedagogy. Her website describes her as a regular presenter at national and international vocal conferences, workshops and masterclasses.

Her conference work includes presentations at several Pan European Voice Conferences, among them Marseille, Dresden, Groningen and London, and at British Voice Association events at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music. She was also a keynote speaker at the ANATS national conference in Brisbane, Australia. Her topics range from demystifying the pop voice and authentic contemporary commercial song interpretation to vocal exercises that go beyond the major scale, and the pressures facing session singers.

She has given masterclasses and workshops at institutions including the Royal Academy of Music, Leeds College of Music, the Bristol Institute of Modern Music and the Academy of Contemporary Music. She has also run teacher training sessions, adjudicated contemporary vocal classes at the Portsmouth Music Festival, and served as an external examiner.

As a singer, she is credited as a feature, lead or backing vocalist on a range of recordings and soundtrack work. She has also been part of the vocal coaching team on the audition tour for The Voice UK, and has contributed to books on teaching singing.
