À propos de cet événement

Description

The Align, Restore & Writing Retreat is a week-long yoga retreat at Suryalila Retreat Centre in Villamartín, Cádiz, Spain, for people who want to slow down, tend to the body and put their thoughts on paper. It is led by Michelle Berrange and Lara O'Brien, and it suits anyone drawn to therapeutic yoga, meditation and guided creative writing in a quiet, supportive setting.

The week brings together two practices that complement each other. Michelle's therapeutic yoga and meditation work on alignment, while Lara guides creative writing for self enquiry and release.

What to Expect

The retreat runs for a week and weaves movement, stillness and writing together. Michelle's yoga and meditation support structural, energetic, emotional and physical alignment, so the body is given real attention rather than being pushed. The writing sessions use guided prompts for self enquiry and release, giving space to notice what is present and to let some of it go.

The organizers describe the aim as reconnecting, reflecting and renewing. Days are paced to allow for that, with nourishing food and the company of a small community of fellow retreatants.

About Michelle Berrange

Michelle Berrange is a musician and the teacher of the therapeutic yoga and meditation at the heart of this retreat. Her sessions focus on alignment across the structural, energetic, emotional and physical layers of the body.

About Lara O'Brien

Lara O'Brien is a musician and co-leads the retreat, guiding the creative writing sessions. Her work here centres on writing as a way of self enquiry and release, complementing the physical practice of the yoga.

The Setting

Suryalila Retreat Centre is in Villamartín, in the province of Cádiz, in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. The centre is known for its peaceful surroundings, which suit a week of reflection and quiet work. Meals are nourishing, and Suryalila's own kitchen is described elsewhere in its programme as organic and vegetarian.

The centre sits within reach of Andalusia's natural parks, and the landscape is part of what makes it a good place to rest and write.

FAQ

The retreat is co-led by Michelle Berrange and Lara O'Brien. Michelle teaches therapeutic yoga and meditation aimed at structural, energetic, emotional and physical alignment. Lara O'Brien guides the creative writing, which is used for self-enquiry and release.

The organizer describes the writing as guided creative writing for self-enquiry and release, not as a craft or publishing workshop. It is designed to complement the yoga and meditation, so expect reflective prompts rather than a focus on producing finished work. Specific exercises and formats aren't detailed in the listing.

The listing frames the writing as a tool for self-enquiry and release, so the emphasis is on personal reflection rather than literary skill. It doesn't state any required writing experience. If you're unsure, contact Suryalila through the booking page before reserving.

Michelle's approach is described as therapeutic yoga and meditation that supports structural, energetic, emotional and physical alignment. This suggests a restorative, alignment-focused emphasis rather than a dynamic or athletic style. The listing doesn't give a detailed class-by-class schedule.
