Jordan Ranch Retreat Center

Jordan Ranch Retreat Center sits in the countryside outside Schulenburg, Texas, minutes from I-10 and surrounded by open fields. It lies between Houston, San Antonio and Austin. The ranch has served as a Christian event and retreat center for more than sixteen years, and its home page now celebrates seventeen years of ministry.

The stated mission is to Build Leaders and Restore Families: to renew, refresh and restore men, women and children through the saving grace of Jesus Christ, on the belief that strengthening the family strengthens the world. The ranch works mostly by providing a facility to churches, organizations and charities that share that vision. Over the years that has meant conferences, Fathers & Sons weekends and Manhood University.

Three special programs carry the work further: Helping Coaches Coach, Refresh & Renew and IntenseMen, designed to equip coaches, refresh pastors and strengthen men. They are supported by partners who give $30 a month. The ranch also keeps a Manhood Hall of Honor, naming Ed Cole, Jack King, Tom Sirotnak, Gayle Watkins Jr, Bill Wilson and Bill McCartney. Corporate teams and church groups book the grounds as well. For business gatherings the ranch is alcohol-free and has fiber-optic internet.

Hotel-style rooms hold 75 guests, 73 in standard rooms with extra-long twin beds and 2 in a Leadership Suite with a full kitchen. The Legacy Lodge adds 98 dormitory beds, with separate women's and men's wings. Outside are wooded walking trails, outdoor prayer stations, a pool, athletic fields and Faith Lake, open for catch-and-release fishing.
